A little about Mrs. Peterson

I received my Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Arizona in Elementary Education. I have been involved in education for 18 years. My teaching career has taken place at the elementary level with K-5 students. I am originally from San Diego, California, I have two sisters and a younger brother. I am married and have two amazing boys Steven and Caleb.

My philosophy is I believe that all students can learn but each learns in a different way and at their own pace. I believe that with hard work and perseverance we can touch each child in a special way. Keeping the atmosphere positive is the key to success as well as keeping the lines of communication open among students, parents and staff. I feel that team work is the ultimate way a school can be successful in reaching the goal of helping a child attain his or her full potential.

I am a very visible principal, the best part of my job is visiting classrooms and getting to know each and every student. In my role as principal I will work to improve the academic and social emotional curriculum of the school, and to collaborate with staff to help facilitate professional learning and school improvement.
